  • About The Role

  • Project Manager  (Government and Defence)

    Location: Hybrid (London Or Cheltenham) with travel to QA sites when required.

     
    Your Role:
    Working with QA's key clients in the government and defence section you will be responsible for ensuring that your projects achieve their objectives within agreed timescales and budget, whilst ensuring that quality measures are continually adhered to.
    Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to undergo and obtain the appropriate level of security clearance.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    •  You will be responsible for the successful delivery of medium to large complex learning and engagement programmes.
    •  Working closely with client stakeholders and consultants/SMEs to scope the objectives, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, assumptions, risks and quality acceptance criteria.
    • Creation and ongoing management of project tools/documents, including project plan, RAID log and RACI.
    • Support programme specific resourcing through clear definition of content expertise and managing a ‘briefing’ process.
    • Manage operational risk within sensible parameters, escalating risks and issues when necessary. Organising and running a SteerCo when projects risks are many/high.
    • Manage a complex network of client stakeholders, internal and external resources and external suppliers across project workstreams.
    • Track and manage project budget within agreed parameters. Understanding and using project tolerances where needed.
    • Provide on-going direction, support and motivation of the project team to deliver continuity of quality.
    Your Experience:
    • Fully familiar with project lifecycle and methodologies and hold a industry recognised qualification/certification, such as PRINCE2 or APMG PMQ.
    • Experience of managing complex projects, for a minimum of 5 years, for a range of clients. Understand how to produce and manage project tools and documentation.
    • Ability to work in both agile and classic waterfall project environments.
    • Experience of complex scheduling of project resources.
    • Experience of effectively managing or mitigating against risk.
    • Experience of effectively communicating on complex issues at a range of stakeholder levels (to C-suite).
    • Proven experience in influencing stakeholders to drive change successfully.
    • Willing to travel for client or internal meetings.
    • You will demonstrate a willingness to go through security clearance for government programmes.
